Pre and Post Congress Satellite Meetings

Pre Congress 19 September Cairns, Cairns, Far North Queensland

This satellite will run for one day on Saturday 19 September.

Themes

  1. Filariasis and tropical diseases and their impact on the lymphatic system and lymphoedema
  2. The effect of heat and humidity on lymphoedema, its treatment and management
  3. Keep the pressure up? Problems of pressure and it's gradients in lymphoedema

These themes may be repeated at the main congress.

Post Congress 26-27 September Ayers Rock (Uluru), Central Australia

This post congress satellite will run for one and a half days from Saturday 26th afternoon and then all day Sunday. The Saturday evening will feature Sunset viewing at the Rock and the Sunday evening will be likely to feature a sound and light show.

This satellite will be the pre congress satellite for the 13th Annual Scientific meeting and workshops of the Australian College of Phlebology

Themes

  1. Lymphatic and vascular inter-relationships – Compensatory Mechanisms when one system fails
  2. Rural and Remote treatment and management issues for chronic lymph and other oedemas
  3. The impact of heat and dry on lymph, blood, tissue systems

These themes may be repeated at the main congress.

Specialised Workshops Pre And Post Congress

There will be a range of specialist therapist workshops before and after the congress.

There are two likely workshops planned at the moment:

Discussion Forums, Roundtables And Special Interest Groups

As we will be running two sessions side by side for the majority of the congress there is the opportunity for a range of discussion forums, consensus meetings, roundtables and special interest group sessions.
